A few years ago, a friend or mine and his lady became the reigning monarchs in the hidden valley. In the capital city of everything, there she gave birth to a child with purple eyes. Superstitious, they thought he had been born genetically inferior due to his purple eyes, and banished him to barren seabed leagues far away. He survived and sometimes writes them.

Those crazy art students… Dictaphone Parcel is an animation based on a sound recorded with a dictaphone travelling secretly inside a parcel. As the hidden recorder travels through the global mail system, from London to Helsinki, it captures the unexpected. We hear a mixture of abstract sounds, various types of transport and even discussions between the mail workers. The animation visualizes this journey by creating an imaginary documentary.

James Blake is a 21-year old producer from London, England that blending his classical piano studies with the outer limits of electronic music, R&B and minimalism. He samples the sentiments of his favorites songs, deconstructs and transforms their melodies and sings along with his subconscious and conscious heroes. I’m sure  Nick D’Amico when saved the semi-drunken crazed-looking (sic) Candice from the railways of Camdentown never had in his mind to form a band with her. Call it luck, destiny or fate the two with Jim (bass), Dave (drums) formed The Volitains.

Although ”Drunk girls are boringly wild” as James Murphy sings, this is not the case for Candice Ayery and The Volitains. Their first, self released EP, called “Underground” reveals a very powerful band that knows how to mix its punk and blues influences with drunk girls and make you listen to their songs again and again and again and again…. The missing link between The Black Keys and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs! Can’t wait for an lp or a gig!!
