Visual Attention on social media profiles (surprise people do check your profile photo)
Interesting study from Mashable finding visitors to social services are primarily drawn to user photos and content located on top of the screen.
Results are based on eye tracking heat maps generated on profile pages from Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, Flickr, YouTube, Klout, Reddit, Digg, Tumblr, Twitter, StumbleUpon and Pinterest.
A nifty detail is that job titles are key content on LinkedIn.
Sum of the story is to make sure to have a great profile pic and your best content on top.
